A Friendship man has been charged with using heroin in front of his children.  According to the criminal complaint, last month Adams County authorities obtained a GPS warrant and installed the device on a mini-van.  The investigator conducted surveillance on the vehicle as it left a factory in the Mauston Industrial Park and traveled to an apartment on Madison’s south side.  After the vehicle re-entered Adams County, the investigator conducted a traffic stop.  Following an investigation, 28-year old James Siegert was arrested and transported to the Adams County Jail.  A few days later, Seigert admitted to authorities that he had purchased heroin while in Madison, had injected some at a fast food restaurant, and swallowed the rest when he noticed the deputy approaching prior to making the traffic stop.  Siegert has been charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and three counts of child neglect.
