Tomah Memorial Hospital will be holding a blood drive on Thursday, July 18th, 2013 from 1pm until 6pm.  The BloodCenter of Wisconsin and Tomah Memorial Hospital are asking the public’s to help meet the growing demand for blood.  Hospital Marketing Public Relations Director Eric Prise says, “Summertime is typically a slower time for donations since people are busy or on vacation.  But the need for blood continues since the warm weather results in additional outdoor activities which unfortunately means additional accidents and the need for more blood.”  To donate blood, a person must be in good health, at least 17-years old, weigh at least 110-pounds and have photo identification.  16-year olds may donate with parental consent.  Parental consent forms are available at the BloodCenter website and at Tomah Memorial Hospital.  Donors can call Tomah Memorial Hospital at 608-374-6605 to schedule an appointment, although walk-ins are welcome.  Prise said, “Donors will receive a free gate admission ticket to the Monroe County Fair scheduled July 24th -28th, 2013 in Tomah.”
