A former Monroe County jailer was sentenced Monday for sexually assaulting an inmate in August 2011.  Attorney J.B. Van Hollen said, “Jerry Friedl was placed on 4-years probation and must serve 6-months in jail.  Friedl must also register as a sex offender, provide a DNA sample, and undergo a sex offender assessment and comply with any recommended treatment.  Friedl is to have no contact with the victim or her family.”  Friedl plead to a charge of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault in July 2012.
