An elderly, inebriated Mauston man fell into Lake Decorah Tuesday evening.  Police said about 6pm an officer responded to the Lake Decorah boat launch on Highway 12/16 on Mauston’s west side.  The officer saw 70- year old Randall Phelps lying on the dock.  Investigation revealed Phelps had driven to the boat launch.  As he was talking to another fellow, Phelps lost his balance, fell striking his head, and then fell into the water.  The man pulled Phelp’s head out-of the water and spent several minutes helping him out of Lake Decorah.  Phelps was medically transported to the ER.  The results of a blood draw showed point-three-four-two-percent (.342%).  After being medically cleared, Phelps was transferred to the Juneau County Jail.  He has been tentatively charged with OWI-3rd offense and bail jumping.
