Disorderly conduct, theft
A Grand Marsh man was arrested in the Festival Foods parking lot in the City of Mauston Saturday afternoon. Police said authorities were called because 32-year old David Whitaker allegedly concealed merchandise while paying for a few items at K-Mart. When approached by the K-Mart employee, Whitaker allegedly pushed her down and ran out the door. He got into his vehicle and attempted to leave the K-Mart parking lot. But Whitaker parked in the Festival Food’s parking lot when he was approached by Juneau County deputies. The deputies recovered a package of white tee-shirts, two hats, and a pair of sunglasses. Whitaker was handcuffed and transported to the Juneau County Jail. He has been tentatively charged with disorderly conduct, theft, and battery.
