A Lyndon Station man and one from Chicago have been charged in Juneau County with being a party to criminal slander of title, a felony.  According to the criminal complaint, last year 70-year old Francis Walsh passed a Warranty Deed through the Juneau County Register of Deeds for an approximate
20-acre parcel in the Town of Necedah.  The Warranty Deed indicated the property was sold by 78-year old Alfred Simmons of Chicago to Walsh for 21-Silver Dollars.  But the men knew the County owned the land since April 2012 and the time to appeal and recover the property for paying off the taxes, penalties, and interest had passed.  Tuesday morning, the Juneau County Board accepted an offer by a Wonewoc man, Jeff Raese, to purchase the property for $100,000 contingent upon completion of a civil lawsuit against the two men.
