CPR Holiday Train
The Canadian Pacific Holiday train stopped in Mauston Sunday afternoon for its 10th year in a row. The winning bid for the three coveted train tickets to Sparta was $500. The crowd donations totaled $1200 and 732-pounds of food. The food pantry also received a $1500 CPR Holiday Train donation and $500 donation from Thrivent for Lutherans. Mauston food pantry spokesperson Kathy Green said, “the little train couldn’t be here because of the bad weather. It was stuck in Milwaukee due to the rain and ice. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be matching our cash totals during our food drive sponsored by the Bank of Mauston which runs through December 15th, 2012. We keep all the money donated to us, however a matching total will be sent on behalf of the Mauston Holiday Train Stop to the food banks in New York and New Jersey to help those families affected by Hurricane Sandy.”
