The City of Mauston is moving forward with possibly acquiring parcels along Beach Street to expand Riverside Park.  Tuesday night the Mauston City Council approved expending $120,000 or 25-percent of a matching $480,000 Municipal Flood Control Grant to possibly purchase 6 parcels located in the flood plain.  Mauston City Administrator Nathan Thiel said, “the selling of the properties to the City would be completely voluntary on behalf of the owners.”  Thiel said, “three property owners have indicated they want to sell.”
