The City of Adams City Council has approved the 2014 Annual Budget and mil rate for the City of Adams. On Monday night, the council approved the general operating fund budget, which was set at $1,165,000. “The General Fund levy, which is the actual dollar amount collected from property tax, increases from $291,178 to $300,000,” said City Administer Robert Ellisor. The mil rate was set at four dollars and thirty-one cents per one thousand dollars of property value. The mil rate is four cents  more than the 2013 mil rate, but two cents less than the 2012 mil rate.  Ellisor said that being able to levy a slight margin over the previous year is helpful for future year budget planning.
