Cashton man was taken into custody after a hit-and-run incident in Monroe County Tuesday afternoon. The Monroe County Communications Center received a call about a two-vehicle crash on Highway 27. The caller, 48-year-old Carrie Flock of rural Sparta, was south bound on Highway 27 when she slowed to make a right turn into a driveway and was struck from behind by a white van. The driver van then fled the scene heading south. A DNR Warden in the area heard the call, and observed the van traveling at a high rate of speed from the area of the scene. He pursued the vehicle onto County Hwy XX in the Town of Wells. The driver then stopped his vehicle, just south of Kansas Ave. The driver, 36-year-old Josue Vicente of Cashton, was taken into custody by Monroe County Deputies.  Officials say no one was injured in the crash or ensuing pursuit.  Vicente was issued citations for OWI 2nd offense, failure to report an accident, operating after revocation, hit and run and fleeing.  The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
