Car stolen while owner in jail
A Mauston man was taken into custody Saturday evening. Police said about 7pm 50-year old Brian Cooley was taking off his clothes and wanted to stay at PJ’s Bar in downtown Mauston. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Juneau County Jail. A deputy said Cooley was released from jail Monday afternoon. When he returned to his residence at Lot 23 on Highway 82 east of Mauston, he found his red-colored 2005 Pontiac Sunfire was not in the driveway. Saturday afternoon he had called a cab to give him a ride to the downtown Mauston bar where he had been arrested and the car had been left in the driveway. Both sets of car keys were inside the residence. The license plate number is 386-RVC.
