A Mauston teenager was caught burglarizing an apartment building on the City’s south side.  Police said Thursday night 17-year old Thomas Kratz was caught inside the kitchen area of the building.  The two security guards at 1030 Division Street saw Kratz walking by the facility pulling on doorknobs when they were taking garbage to the dumpsters.  They followed the suspect’s footprints around the building.  One of the security guards made contact with the suspect and was walking him to the front door as law enforcement arrived.  A search revealed a steak knife in Kratz’ front sweatshirt pocket.  Kratz had gain entry by prying open the French doors.  Kratz was arrested and transported to the Juneau County Jail.  He has been tentatively charged with burglary, carrying a concealed weapon, and placed on a probation hold.
