contributed…..REEDSBURG – Representative Ed Brooks (Reedsburg) has been appointed to serve on the Speaker’s Task Force on Rural Schools, a bi-partisan task force that will examine a variety of rural educational issues, including technology integration, transportation needs, and financial stability.  “Rep. Brooks is a perfect fit for this task force, and I look forward to him sharing his perspective on the future of rural education,” said Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester). “Ed is a strong advocate for rural schools, and his input will be significant as we address strengthening rural education.”  The twelve member task force will be touring rural schools around the state, starting with stops in Rhinelander and Merrill. Further stops will be added over the remainder of this year, and a task force report will be released early next year.

“Our rural schools have been a success in the past, and I want to ensure that they remain successful in the future,” said Rep. Brooks. “That is why I worked to insert a $300 million increase in general aids into the budget, and that is why I am accepting a position on this task force.”
