Boyfriend accused of stealing jewelry
A North Freedom man has been arrested as a result of an incident in the City of Mauston. Police said 34-year old Toby Denman was arrested in Portage earlier this week and was being held in the Columbia County Jail. Investigation revealed Denman had stolen jewelry from his girlfriend. Denman then sold the rings and necklaces at a jewelry store in Mauston for almost 170-dollars. Denman also allegedly got into a physical altercation with his girlfriend when he attempted to steal her DVD movies. Denman has been tentatively charged with domestic battery and theft. He has been transferred to the Juneau County Jail.
