Auto following too closely
A Friendship woman was cited as a result of an accident in the City of Mauston. Police said on Wednesday afternoon, June 12th, 2013, 37-year old Jamie Holsten was traveling east on East State Street following a 2011 Chevy HHR being driven by a Mauston man, 35-year old Jeremy Gazic, through the Union Street intersection. Gazic slowed to make a left turn into the downtown Kwik Trip parking lot. Holsten was following too closely and rear-ended the HHR. No one was injured. Holsten told the officer she didn’t have proof of auto insurance with her but it was at home. She would call the officer the next day with the information. She never called, so on the officer’s next scheduled shift he called Holsten. She said her husband forgot to pay the insurance. Holsten was cited for auto following too closely, no auto insurance, and no proof of insurance. Her fines totaled $238.
