Assembly Dems reject State Budget
Three Democratic State Representatives stopped in downtown Mauston Thursday to talk about the state budget which recently passed in the Assembly on a 55 to 42-vote. 81st Assembly District Representative Fred Clark of Baraboo, 7th Assembly Representative Daniel Riemer, and 79th Assembly Representative Dianne Hesselbein of Middleton, 3 of the 42 representatives who voted ‘no’, told WRJC at the Beyond the Daily Grind coffeshop that the state budget expands private vouchers statewide and rejects a federally funded expansion of Badgercare. The budget will hurt the middle class and does not reflect the values of most Wisconsin residents.
