Anchor Bank buys Castle Rock Lake condominiums
Much interest was shown Tuesday morning during a sheriff’s sale of condominiums along Castle Rock Lake, but only one bidder, the bank. The Juneau County Sheriff’s lobby in Mauston was filled with Mauston businessmen, Pat Connors and Dan Berkos, Wisconsin Rapids developer Brad Pavolski, plus interested property owners, but only the representative from Anchor Bank placed a bid of $2.5-million. CRL Development, LLCĀ entered into foreclosure in September 2011 in the amount of $5.6-million. The property located in the Town of Germantown includes completed and partially completed residential condominiums, vacant land on which condominium units may be built in the future, and a commercial condo unit rented for use as a restaurant. Although the local businessmen did not place a bid on the property, they did hand the bank rep their business cards.
