Adams Police Chief on Administrative Leave
“Adams Police Chief has been placed on paid administrative leave,” said Adams City Administrator Bob Ellisor Friday afternoon. “Police Chief Todd Hanson is still Chief. It is a personnel matter under review. At this time, it would be inappropriate to comment on the matter while it’s under investigation. The City is being assisted in the investigation by the City labor attorney, Jim Masy, of Oshkosh,” said Ellisor. “Hanson has been Chief of Police for the City of Adams for approximately 6-years,” said Ellisor. “The Officer in Charge is Mark Klaus, who has been with the department for 20-years. And Chief Hanson was not escorted out-of his officer earlier this week, “said Ellisor, “Adams County Sheriff Sam Wollin just informed the Chief of his administrative leave status. He was just the messenger.” Ellisor wouldn’t comment on any previous complaints against Chief Hanson and said he hoped the investigation would be handled as quickly as possible.
