Adams hosts Annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk
Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk in Adams earlier this month raised thousands of dollars. Development Director Kathy Davies said, “over 175 people took steps in the Annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Adams-Juneau County Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 6th, 2012. The Adams Community Center was the host site and area walkers raised $13, 080. The funds benefit families across Juneau and Adams Counties affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and benefits care professionals through services and programs. This year’s top fundraising team was Quimby’s Vegetable Barn whose members raised over $6000 followed by ADRC of Juneau County who raised $858. The team with the most walkers was Heidi Randall’s A-Team from Mauston. The top individual fundraiser was Vivian Quimby who raised $1,568. A special Spirit Award was presented to Carol Gross of Mauston for her beautiful handmade quilts she donates each year as part of the Walk raffle. A special thanks to the businesses who donated; Cenex, Super 8 in Adams, Wisconsin River Meats, Lampert’s Lumber, and GMJ.”
