A 2nd fatality in Monroe County crash
Monroe County authorities report a second fatality as a result of injuries received in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning. Sheriff’s Department Detective Sergeant Ronald Rader says, “An 8-month 25-day old baby boy, Robert McCollam-Dye was in a car seat at the time of the crash. McCollam-Dye died later at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. 49-year old Lois McCollam of Tomah, died at the scene from injuries she received in the crash. The driver, 47-year old Terry McCollam of Tomah, was medically transported to a Sparta hospital. A third passenger, 20-year old Luke McCollam of Tomah, was transported by Tomah ambulance to Tomah Memorial Hospital. The only occupant of the east bound vehicle, a Warrens woman, 32-year old Brittany Taylor, was extricated from the van and med-flown to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. The driver of the car, Terry McCollam, was traveling west on Highway 16 in the Town of Adrian. As he attempted to pass another west bound vehicle, McCollam saw the east bound Taylor van. He tried to get back into his lane but the 2005 Dodge Stratus fishtailed back into oncoming traffic and struck the van head on/angled.
