Mauston Boys Basketball Team Starts New Year Off With Conference Win Over Pioneer Westfield, 48-21:

Friday Night, January 2nd, the Mauston Golden Eagles hosted their conference opener against Pioneer Westfield, and dominated the second half to get their first conference win, and move to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. At the half, Mauston had just a 6 point lead at 19-13, but in the second half, the Golden Eagles held Westfield to just 8 points as they dominated on offense and defense.

Mauston was led in scoring by Brian Hall with 13 points, Jeff Erickson with 12, and Dustin Manthe adding 10 points. Also scoring for Mauston was Tyler Tardiff with 5, Brady nelson adding in 4 points, and Logan Dahlke and Trever Reichhoff contributing 2 points a piece off the bench.

The Golden Eagles next game will be Tuesday, January 6th, when they travel to take on the Wautoma Hornets in South Central Conference action, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. You can find all the action on AM 1270 and the NEW FM 92.9 WRJC.
