A former Mauston woman, now residing near Necedah and working for Wood County, was the primary author of a health grant for 2.3 million dollars awarded Friday to Wood County.  Susan Kunferman, formerly Sue Jensen, graduated from Mauston HS in 1990 and was a member of the varsity basketball team.  Kunferman, now Wood County Health Department Director, accepted the award at the Mead Inn in Wisconsin Rapids.  The federal grant will be used for health and human services needs in Wood County schools among other applications.
