Tomah holds groundbreaking ceremony for new Veterans Memorial
More than 150-people attended the Veterans Memorial Groundbreaking Ceremony at Butts Park in Tomah Friday afternoon. Executive Director of the Tomah Area Chamber of Commerce Chrish Hanson said, “many veterans were at the ceremony including State Senator Kathleen Vinehourt, Assemblyman Mark Radcliffe, Tomah Mayor John Rusch. Don and Ron Tralmer from Tralmer Sales and Service donated $2000 while the Tomah Area Credit Union presented a donation of $1000 at the ceremony Friday. Municipal Judge and Tomah Veterans Memorial Committee member Tom Flock presented and introduced the in-kind donors.” Hanson said, “We just hit the $80,000 mark and are very excited now that we can see the project coming together. Our in-kind donors will begin preparing the Memorial site so it will be ready for the actual monument when we hit the our goal of $125,000.”
