The Mauston Hatch Public Library will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary Saturday, April 17th, from 11am until 2pm with a community-wide cook-out, library tours, and the Mauston High School Jazz Band will be performing.  Library Director Bridget Christenson said the former library director, Kathy Manders, has been invited but she is currently in Florida. 
Christenson updated the Mauston City Council Tuesday night on the 2009 library services.  She said total checkouts of books, magazines, music CD’s, audio books, videos, and DVD’s were at an all-time high of 132,639 or an 8% increase from 2008.   The Hatch Public Library issued 859 new patron cards, an increase of 12% from 2008.  Computer usage increased 14%and use of the Heritage Room increased 37%.  The Necedah Memorial Library donated microfilm from Necedah newspapers published from the late 1800’s until the 1950’s.   The Hatch Public Library also offers weekly preschool and toddler storytimes, onsite storytimes at area daycare facilities, Summer Reading Programs for both children and adults and baby play groups.
