Long-time Juneau County Coroner to resign
The long-time Coroner of Juneau County, Howard T. Fischer, has informed the Governor and the Executive Committee of the Juneau County Board that he will resign his elected position effective April 30, 2010. Mr. Fischer has provided outstanding service to the people of Juneau County as Coroner for 27 years. He will be sorely missed by all who have worked with him both inside and outside county government.
Governor Jim Doyle is expected to appoint a successor to serve out the remainder of Fischer’s term in office. The county coroner is elected to a four-year term, and the next election is November 2, 2010. If there are two or more candidates for the position in any political party, there would be a primary election on September 7, 2010.
