Richland County Judge Ed Leineweber faces an uphill battle against Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard in the District 4 Court of Appeals Spring Race.  During a three-person primary race, Blanchard received 2 to1 more votes than Leineweber.  Blanchard received approximately 28,000 votes and Leineweber approximately 13,000 during the February Primary Election.  The 3rd candidate in the race, La Crosse Judge Romona Gonzalez received 12,700 votes.  Leineweber, a Chicago native, who moved to Richland County after graduating from Notre Dame more than 35-years ago, has been Richland County Circuit Judge since 1997.  Judge Leineweber says the 4th District Court of Appeals needs a Judge outside of Dane County who has actual judicial experience.  During the February Primary, Judge Leineweber did carry Juneau County by 15-votes.  Leineweber received 237 votes and Blanchard received 222-votes.  Gonzalez received 170.
