Judge to render decision in 60 days regarding open records law
With no previous case law to determine whether the Juneau County’s insurance company is required to provide invoices to a local newspaper under the states open records law, Judge Charles Pollex ordered the unredacted invoices be provided to the court for an in camera inspection. After review of the material in question, he will render a written decision in 60 days. The Juneau County Star Times had requested the invoices from Juneau County Sheriff Brent Oleson’s attorney Michele Ford’s law firm for the services rendered to Sheriff Oleson during the Jeremy Haske employment case for 2008, 2009, and 2010. The county had provided the Star Times with copies of the invoices with large black marks covering much of the invoices but revealing the dollar amounts for services.
