3 Juneau County Sheriff’s candidates answer tough questions

Juneau County Sheriff's candidates Seth Tully, Tom Czys, and Brent Oleson participated in a forum at Mauston Hatch Public Library Monday evening
The three men seeking the Juneau County Sheriff’s position answered tough questions during a candidates forum Monday night. The Juneau County Republican Party sponsored the forum with questions submitted by the local media. Written questions were also submitted by some of the almost 50-people who attended the forum at the Mauston Hatch Public Library. Incumbent Sheriff Brent Oleson and challengers Seth Tully and Tom Czys answered questions about the budget, technology, and treating employees fairly. When asked why the increase in burglaries in the County….Cyzs said half-jokingly, “it was because he retired as detective last year. Also because of the economy and people are without jobs. And because of his contacts with the public.” Tully said the younger deputies are not trained to get out and know the citizens…but are trained to shoot a gun and drive a squad car fast.” Olseon said, “3 or 4 separate groups have been arrested in connection with the burglaries in the Necedah area.” He also said, “drug use is a factor in property crimes.” Tully, Czys, and Oleson will face-off in the Republican Primary September 14th. Go and vote.
